My Makita cordless vacuum cleaner, which I'd used for over 20 years,  cracked due to plastic deterioration. It served me well. I just received a new cordless vacuum cleaner from a friend  who was returning to Japan two months ago. My previous vacuum cleaner probably wanted to be replaced sooner. My friend's house, where she received it, had several looms.  I sat on the wooden floor of that room, thinking about packing my trunk.  Thank you for hard work. The inner bag for the used cordless vacuum cleaner... I'll sew it using a 3M air conditioner filter cover. Actually, I sewed one for the previous one too,  so it can be used for the next one as well. I can make anything, can't I? 先代ご苦労さん、次代がんばってや！ 20年以上仕事をしたマキタの充電式掃除機。 プラスチックの劣化のため割れた。よぉ働いてくれたわ、 ちょうど2ヶ月前に帰国する友から充電式掃除機をもろたばっかり。 先代はもっと早くバトンタッチしたかったんやろなぁ、 日本の友が受け取ってくれたその家には機織り機が何台もあった。 部屋の板の間に座ってトランクのパッキングを思った。思い出や、 ありがとうさん、 先代の充電式掃除機の中袋は・・・・ ３Mのエアコンのエアコンフィルターカバーで縫うた。 それが次代にも使えるんよ、よかったわぁ、 なんでも作れるんやなぁ〜

It's 2026, and half the year is over. I don't know how much I've accomplished,  but time has passed mercilessly. I'm working on sashiko embroidery. I'm even making my own clothes and underwear.  I make most of my meals myself. I also make seasonings like miso, doubanjiang, mirin,  vinegar, and yangnyeom. Ultimately, I've been successful in using my time.  But there's still the stress of knowing.  I could do more. The only time I feel I'm not wasting time is when I'm practicing my concertina.  I'm getting better at playing faster tunes. The problem is finger coordination.  I need to practice a lot to get used to it. "If I don't practice for two days, I regress. " That's a reality I'm experiencing. The result is a session...

Let me introduce you to our "ragged jeans" repair service! In my opinion, jeans repair isn't just about patching holes; I used to think about shrinking the stretched fabric at the knees,  but perhaps I won't focus on that anymore? I want to make it more fun. The fabrics I use are recycled kimono fabrics from Japan, but... I want to think more freely.
