Thimble is a tool 指ぬき

A thimble is a tool used during "hand movement" (the process of sewing).

The thimble is placed on the middle finger of the dominant hand, 

pushing the needle, while the index finger of the other hand guides 

the needle's position by smoothing the fabric.

This is a thimble with a plate for long needles.

For short needles, the thimble is a ring that is inserted between the first 

and second joints of the middle finger.

Hand movement can also be performed with this.

The head of the needle (the hole through which the thread passes) 

is placed against the plate (the raised part) of the thimble, and the needle is 

pushed forward smoothly using the pad of the middle finger.

They are made of metal, cloth, leather, etc.

This is the Japanese sashiko method.

There are methods similar to Sashiko all over the world.

⚪︎ Kantha (India/Bangladesh).　⚪︎Quilt (Europe and America).

⚪︎Schwalm (Germany).　⚪︎England: Darning.

⚪︎Boro (Japan).　⚪︎Central Europe (Hungary, Romania, etc.): Írásos.

There are probably many more.

利き手の中指に指ぬきをはめて針を押す。

反対の手の人差し指で布をなでながら針の進む

「運針」位置をガイドする一動作。

これは長い針用で皿付き指ぬき。

短い針の指ぬきは中指の第一関節と第二関節の間に差し込むリング。

これでも同じように「運針」は出来る。

針の頭（糸を通す穴）を指ぬきの皿の部分（凹凸部分）にあて、

中指の腹を使って前に送るように針を押します。

金属、布、皮などがある。

と、これは日本の刺し子のメソッド。

世界中には方法も刺し子に似たもんがある。

⚪︎カンタ（Kantha / インド・バングラデシュ）。

⚪︎キルト（Quilt / ヨーロッパ・アメリカ）。

⚪︎ボロ（Boro / 日本）。

⚪︎シュヴァルム（Schwalm / ドイツ）。

⚪︎イギリス：ダーニング（Darning）。

⚪︎中欧（ハンガリー・ルーマニアなど）：イーラーショシュ（Írásos）。

など、もっとよぉけあるやろね。
